Mission Statement
As a lifelong educator in the arts, I’ve spent years perfecting the art of belly dance performance. But it was through teaching that I uncovered the true magic: belly dance as a profound tool for trauma healing. With ancient roots steeped in feminine rituals—celebrating birth, postpartum, and life’s many transitions—belly dance is a practice that empowers and heals simultaneously.
Through simple, joyful movements accessible to every body, participants reconnect with their physical selves, gaining confidence, agency, and emotional release. The dance becomes a somatic ritual—shimmies, snake arms, body rolls—that helps unlock stagnant energy and encourage spiritual and emotional flow. This is movement as medicine, fun and freeing, rooted in thousands of years of cultural wisdom.
I begin each session with a brief but powerful introduction to the history and sacred traditions of belly dance. Then, we move gently into basic techniques and flow sequences that are inclusive for all ages, fitness levels, and sizes. Group sessions are followed by optional one-on-one opportunities for deeper healing, form refinement, and personalized guidance.
My role is to create a safe, joyful space for women to reconnect with their bodies, release trauma, and rediscover empowerment—one shimmy at a time.
